Newmont Ghana Gold Limited a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation recruits for the position of a Production Geologist - Akyem Project. We are one of the World's largest gold mining companies.


Job Description

The successful candidate will perform and/or supervise moderately complex geological duties related to specific phases of larger projects (mine, development and exploration) or work independently on all aspects of smaller projects.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform geologic activities essential to production, development and/or exploration programs
  • Ensure alignment with mining production requirements and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Monitor and control daily QA/QC performance, geological data collection, geological interpretation, ore block model, dilution control, Mine to Mill Reconciliation, Geologic computer modeling (GIS, Mine Sight, Vulcan, Geomodel, etc) and project peer-reviews
  • Collect, compile and analyze production, development and exploration data results
  • Recommend, plan, schedule, implement and track appropriate actions/programs
The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A first degree in Geosciences or related field with knowledge of geological principles
  • Five to seven years of industry experience in a mining or exploration environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team
  • Duties require the application of scientific knowledge and theory with limited leeway for independent judgment and decisions

PromPT is a project funded by the United States Government's President's Malaria Initiative (PMI), AND WE RECRUIT FOR Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist.We are  managed by University Research Co. (URC), in collaboration with the Malaria Consortium and Population Council. The project aims to reduce malaria morbidity and mortality nationwide with a focus on children under 5 and pregnant women. The program provides support to the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) of Ghana and covers 7 regions of Ghana - Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Brong-Ahafo, Ashanti, Volta, and Eastern.

Job Description

Role:

  • The M&E Specialist works closely with the M&E Advisor to support the entire ProMPT M&E portfolio.
  • Primarily, the M&E Specialist works to maintain and organise all documentation supporting the project's progress as per the performance monitoring plan.
  • He/she also contributes to M&E support for NMCP, CHIM/PPME, and regional and district level staff that collect and routine monitor malaria data

Required Skills or Experience

  • Master's degree in health, statistics, social science, or related field or equivalent
  • Two-three years experience working in m&E at the national and community level in malaria or similar public health disease control effort
  • Skills in planning, designing, and implementing surveys
  • Familiarity with evaluation methodology
  • Knowledge of sampling and sampling processes
  • Expertise in statistical analysis and experience in use of statistical software
  • Good diplomatic, representational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and with team members and partners at all levels
  • Capacity to manage numerous tasks and report in a timely manner
  • Experience with local and international partners in Ghana, including both private and public partners
  • Advanced use of computers including; Microsoft Office software applications, especially word processing , graphics (PowerPoint), spreadsheets and database functions
  • Ability to work under pressure with little supervision
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Ghana
