Job Description

We invite applications from highly motivated and suitably qualified Motor Vehicle Mechanics/Technician holders for employment in the service department of the company.

The Mantrac Trainee Service Engineer Program is designed to train and develop Workshop and Field Service Engineers who will be able to meet Caterpillar Standards at the leading edgy of technology.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A minimum of MVT Part 3 or a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • BSc Mechanical, Mining, Agric and Electrical Engineering will be an advantage
Requirements:
  • This is a challenging role that will require the Trainee Service Engineers to work in a "hands on" position in conditions that are remote, noisy and dirty
  • Trainees must be dedicated to continual training and development throughout their careers
  • Must be able to communicate well in the English Language and be a team player
  • Must be computer literate especially with MS Office Suite and the internet

Job Description

This position requires two people for Akyem Project and Ahafo Mine. The successful candidates will report to the Maintenance Training Coordinator. She/he will provide appropriate training and skills for the maintenance department.

Essential Duties:

  • Contribute towards identifying the training needs for the mechanics/auto-electricians maintenance workforce
  • Train the national mechanics/auto-electricians workforce to Newmont Standards
  • Training of Mining SOP's to Mining Staff
  • Assess and evaluate in support of maintenance recruitment
  • Ensure complete recording policies and procedures are maintained
  • Assist with the approved company mobile equipment training program
  • Comply with all NG Occupational Health and Safety requirements as well as those required under relevant Ghana legislation
The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive

Required Skills or Experience

  • Experience with competency based training, on and off job
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership
  • Training qualification (Preferred but not essential)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment in open pit mining operation

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that HES procedures and practices meet regulatory and legal compliance
  • Co-ordinate with Human Resources Department, to keep employees abreast with current HSE procedures
  • Ensure routine inspection and audit of plant and equipment as well as jobsites and propose corrective remedial measures where necessary
  • Conduct HSE induction for all new hires and corporate visitors onsite and regularly train all employees
  • Co-ordinate Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) preparation and training of users as well as retention of MSDS at all jobsites
  • Participate and lead the preparation of Standard operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure availability at all work stations
  • Collaborate and monitor the operation of vendors to ensure compliance with GEODRILL SOPs
  • Co-ordinate in incident investigation, reporting, and proposing preventive actions
  • Ensure regular and periodic reporting of accurate HSE incidents to management
  • Conduct Mock Drill s and implement corrective actions for prevention
  • Co-ordinate and ensure regular revision and updating of Geodrill Health Safety and Environment policies and procedures and SOPs and ensure they are maintained
  • Conduct periodic audit and institute loss and accident prevention systems in place
  • Carry out other duties as necessary and assigned by supervisor

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of Diploma in Health and Safety certificate
  • Experience in Mining and Extractive industry practices will be an added advantage
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lead teams and work within team environment
  • First Aid training
  • Risk Assessment, management and Loss prevention Experience
  • Good knowledge of:
    • Occupational Health and Safety practice
    • Knowledge of MS office suite
  • Must possess valid driving licence
  • Must be willing to travel across all Geodrill sites in West Africa

Job Description

Purpose:
To assist with the development of the company's engineering apprenticeship and workplace training programs by providing inputs and feedbacks to the engineering manager and stakeholders.

Roles:

  • Offer Support and assistance in the development of the company's trainees
  • Assist the engineering department in all training needs and liaise with external training providers to improve the skills of engineering staff.
  • Develop and facilitate the implementation of skills training programmes for engineering staff.
  • Provide experience based advice.
  • Work to establish and maintain an ongoing relationship with engineering apprentices.
  • Provide performance feedback and direction to the Apprentices
  • Document monthly meetings and progress.
  • Assist the apprentices in developing and implementing the related instructions and on the job training program.
  • Discuss and provide support and guidance in dealing with issues and challenges that occur in the workplace.

Required Skills or Experience

  • First Degree or HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or its equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar position in the mining industry
  • Willingness to share wisdom and knowledge gained from personal experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Computer literate, outlook, word, excels and power point.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, lesson plan development and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to assist others in developing skills and knowledge.
  • Commitment to providing support and direction to apprentices
  • Tolerant and respectful of individual differences.
  • Ability to balance personal and professional commitments.
