Job Description

  • DEPARTMENT: PROGRAMS
  • JOB TITLE: PROGRAMS OFFICER
  • EXPECTATION: The Program Officer is expected to provide support in the implementation of WANEP-Ghana's projects.
  • IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: National Network Coordinator (NNC)
  • JOB LOCATION: Tamale
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To support various Regional Chapters of the Network to plan, implement and monitor peacebuilding initiatives in all the operational regions of WANEP-Ghana.
  • To support in the production of activity, quarterly, annual and final reports on all activities of WANEP-Ghana to donors, partners and network members.
  • To ensure effective coordination and networking with colleagues, member organizations and implementing partners;
  • Build and sustain relationships with other Civil Society organizations, local government institutions and security agencies.
  • Articulate the philosophy and modus operandi of the organization to its visitors and partners who visit the secretariat
  • To assist in the implementation of appropriate monitoring and evaluation strategies for all WANEP-Ghana projects;
  • To work closely with the other WANEP-Ghana staff in the day to day management of the network secretariat.
  • To support with resource mobilization for the Network through the design of appropriate projects.
  • To perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned to him/her by the NNC.
DURATION: One Year

Required Skills or Experience

  • A First Degree in Development Studies, Peacebuilding or Conflict Transformation
  • Minimum of two years working experience in peacebuilding/ development work
  • Direct experience in program planning, monitoring and evaluation
  • Knowledge of donor compliance
  • Experience in training and workshop facilitation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong writing skills
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Possess good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Possess initiative and ability to adapt and cope with pressure
  • Willing to travel and work outside normal hours
  • Display organizational awareness and commitment
  • Ambitious and results-oriented
  • Open to criticism and willing to learn
