Job Description

Level: Senior Staff
Reporting Line: Reports to Head of Mechanical Department

Responsibilities:

  • To assist in actively promoting and maintaining engineering standards at the Auto Workshop and other assigned areas within and outside plant
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirement at the Auto Workshop and other assigned posts
  • Ensure suitable and sufficient risk assessments are in place for all activities undertaken
  • Ensure high availability of Pay loaders and Forklifts for Plant and Harbour operations
  • Assist in the Maintenance of Harbour Hopper Filter Plants and facilitate the availability of Plants for Clinker Discharge
  • Ensure that all resources such as manpower, materials, methods, and procedures are followed and utilized effectively and efficiently
  • Liaise with third party support companies for parts and repairs to ensure high availability of company's fleet of vehicles
  • Keeps abreast with the most recent technical information and fault finding methods and ensure the dissemination of the necessary information to key personnel

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum qualification of BSc. Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a maintenance environment including the repair and maintenance of heavy duty equipment such as Pay Loaders, Forklifts, Trucks etc
  • Knowledge of Work Order Creation and Backlog Management with Computer - based Maintenance Management System
  • Good Maintenance Planning background
  • Knowledge of production plant and production methods
  • Awareness of safety and environmental issues, Risk Assessment etc
  • Competence in machine failure analysis
  • High level computer literacy with excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
