Experience    7 years Job Expires    31 Oct, 2011 Job Description Reporting To: Group Manager, Operations/Engineering Location: Bogoso, Ghana Core Purpose: To provide, manage and direct a cost effective Engineering Service to all operational sites in the company to meet business needs, safety and all other Company and Departmental requirements. Key Responsibilities: Safety, Health & Environment: Compliance with statutory, regulatory and company requirements and continuous improvement in safety, health and environment Engineering & Maintenance: Ensure that the engineering needs of all manufacturing plants and Mobile Manufacturing Units are met Ensure the Engineering systems, registers and other records are maintained and controlled Agree engineering and maintenance standards with EM and GM Ops/Eng Manage workshop Personnel: Improve people performance & capability taking into account career progression and business needs and ensure that subordinates are trained and developed Ensure a health IR climate at the site Technical Consultancy/Trouble shooting: Assist with technical input to solve process and engineering problems Ensure that all engineering activities performed to required standards Others: Co-ordination of all engineering and support functions and systems Continuous improvements in safety, productivity and quality Contribute to the development and implementation of company engineering strategy in Ghana Integrate maintenance into the manufacturing team Required Skills or Experience A university degree (or its equivalent) in an engineering field. At least 7 years postgraduate industrial experience of which 4 years should have  been spent in the explosives or mining business.
