Abosso Goldfields Ltd is a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited is looking to fill out the position for Projects Superintendent – Ghana Exploration. We are located in a tropical climate; the Damang Gold Mine is a world-class operation, consisting of 25 Mtpa open pit-mining operations and a 5.2 Mtpa CIL metallurgical plant. The mine is situated in the Western Region of Ghana and is ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certificated. It has a current Life of Mine expectancy to the year 2019 and beyond. Industry: Mining Category: Engineering Location: Tarkwa Job Status: Full-time Salary: GH¢  Education: BSc Experience: 7 years Job Expires: 14 Jun, 2012 Job Description Purpose of the Job: You will be an experienced, competent and self-motivated Projects Superintendent. Reporting directly to the Exploration Manager, the incumbent will oversee the work of a team of Exploration Geologists, and be responsible for the delivery of exploration projects on budget and in a timely manner.  Also, you will work timely and provide costs effective input to geological framework upon which the exploration projects can be designed. He/she will maintain a safe and friendly environment and ensure that effective exploration standards and procedures are followed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements. Key Responsibilities: Ensure resource and exploration drill targets are generated and drilled Manage core logging and sampling Manage drilling projects and drill contractors Drill contract management Prepare Geological handover reports, budget preparation and AFE compilation Ensure all exploration work is compliant to SOX procedures Continuous improvement of exploration geology processes and systems Training and development of Field Technicians   Required Skills or Experience BSc or Diploma in Geology or Geological Engineering Strong safety orientated At least 7 years of geological experience in same role Understanding of hydrothermal and paleoplacer gold ore systems and structural geology Have a quality focus and high standard of work Have strong oral and written communication skills in English Hold a valid driver's license and have off-road driving experience It will be advantageous if candidates have: Relevant work experience in both paleoplacer and hydrothermal gold environments Msc Geology How To Apply Interested persons should submit Curriculum Vitae to: Gladys Damalie - Human Resources Superintendent Tarkwa Gold Mine P.
