Job Description

Camfed Ghana is seeking to recruit motivated and dynamic individuals to support its programmes. 

You will provide support to the Executive Director in managing strategic partnerships and in external communications and advocacy.

Specific duties include:

  • Professionally and effectively articulating the mission, vision, core values and programmes of Camfed to external audiences, acting as a credible advocate for the organisation when required, ensuring the consistency and integrity of all external communications, working with the Executive Director to engage with and cultivate strategic partnerships, managing on-going partnerships with strategic donors, facilitating donor visits, and/or accompanying the Executive Director and Executive Team on donor visits, generate proposals for prospective donors and compiling reports and updates for strategic donors in liaison with Camfed teams in the UK and US 

Required Skills or Experience

Successful candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on teams and collaborate across organisational functions, an eye for accuracy and detail, an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and flexibility to travel.

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communication/public relations or a related field, a post graduate degree will be an advantage
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in international development/corporate social responsibility and/or strategic partnerships
  • Knowledge of international development issues from the perspective of organisations and governments, especially in education, gender and youth development
  • Experience in developing partnerships at the local and institutional level, building working teams, coalitions and alliances between organisations
  • Excellent research, writing and editorial skills
  • Ability to distill complex issues and processes into simple clear messages
  • Public speaking
  • Budget management
  • A flexible, proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work under pressure
