KoforiduaPoly was founded in 1997, along with Sunyani and Ho Polytechnics, on the premises once occupied by Koforidua Technical Institute. For a while the Polytechnic co-existed with the technical institute until they moved into their current location. The Polytechnic started with two Schools, the School of Applied Science and Technology and the School of Business and Management Studies.
