Golden Star Resources (GSR) seeks Drill and Blast Supervisor. We are a growing mining Company with two operating mines in Ghana, Golden Star (Bogoso/Prestea) Limited and Golden Star (Wassa) Limited and other projects at various stage of development.  JOB SUMMARY Company: Golden Star Resources Industry: Mining Category: Engineering Location: Bogoso/Prestea Job Status: Full-time Salary: GH¢  Education: University degree Experience: 3 years Job Expires: 18 Jul, 2012 Job Description Responsibilities: Ensure that drilling areas are available at all times to minimize standby hours; Schedule drill rigs to work safely and productively; Schedule blast work and blast notification; Monitor and ensure that drill and blast activities are executed according to design; Ensure that blasting is conducted in a productive and environmental-friendly manner to meet EPA requirements Supervise drilling contractors and explosive suppliers to operate efficiently; Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time  Contract Duration: One-year renewable Required Skills or Experience Qualification and Required Competencies: BSc. in Mining Engineering with at least Three (3) years experience in a mining company Must have a Blasting certificate of competency and Mine Captain Certificate; A proven knowledge and experience in open pit drill and blast operations; A sound knowledge in drill and blast software - shotplus and MS officer Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills; Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work extended hours to accomplish job requirements; Must have effective supervisory and people management skills; Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving licence How To Apply Interested persons should send their application letters, CV's, and copies of relevant academic documents to: recruitment@gsrgh.com   Or The Human Resources & Administration Manager Golden Star (Bogoso/Prestea) Limited P.
